Samples of hand built pieces

by children and adults

I also met so many incredibly nice, caring and loving people who led me to building so many awesome relationships, and more importantly, make close friends.

Unfortunately, four years and a half ago I was unable to renew the lease at the Northdale location, but continued to teach out of my house, as some of you know, and to be active in the surrounding communities. I have had so many ask me when I was going to open up a new place and where, that, even while working up to three jobs, I still dreamed of re-opening. And that’s where I am on the road right now. I want to thank all my customers and my friends because it is thanks to you and your referrals that I have been able to get to where I am right now… in the process of re-opening, but I still need your full support guys!  I have to admit that I like challenges, probably because they compel me to be creative and therefore come up with solutions. I am the kind of person that truly believes that for every issue on this earth, there is a solution - a creative one. That’s why I am committed to keep resourceful and innovative to re-open a studio and to teach art because in fact, I believe that my teaching children, teens, and adults helps them, and me, to solve some kind of equation, to balance something in our lives, whether it is psychologically, physically, spiritually. I truly believe I teach them, and myself, to find peace and joy. To feel happy. I am glad to say that I am fulfilling my purpose in life and am proud to have impacted the lives of many adults and thousands of children, many of whom now have moved on to colleges, to either become artists, or teachers. And that makes my heart smile!

Artfully yours,

Ms. Christine

Playing with Clay makes us all happy

A Passion for Teaching

My story started on May 1st of 2005, when I bought The Ceramic Garden, a previous pottery painting studio, 14 years ago and after having been laid off four times in seven years from corporate America. So I want to say a huge Thank you to the employers who let me go because subsequently, I set off on an adventure, researched, and learned, mostly by trial and error and very hard work, and became the self-taught artist and teacher I am now. I mean I didn't even know what a kiln was! That small business became my thing, my joy, especially when playing with clay and teaching. Who wouldn’t love their Job when you feel you’re playing all the times! I guess I am one of those crazy entrepreneurs that would rather work 85-100 hours a week for myself rather than working 40 hours for someone else and be bored to death.

That's when I discovered my passion for teaching art and my eagerness to create. During these years, I have taught art at venues in Tampa, FL; the YMCA, Mc Kitrick Elementary school, THINK Homeschooler cooperative, Wellcare Health Plans, TECO, SunTrust Bank, Hunter Warfield, St. Timothy’s Catholic Church, Shiloh Baptist Church, Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation, Carrollwood Cultural Center, Boy Scouts of America, as well as various daycares around Tampa, Dunedin, and Wesley Chapel.
